Free Cell Phone

My wife and I do not use our cell phones as much as most people do. We have a bundled account where we share minutes and get free nights and weekend calls. We pay around $65 a month for this service and it is nice because we do need cell phones, but we do not have to pay more for minutes we will not use.

We have both had accounts with Cingular as our mobile phone provider. Every two years our contract comes up and they offer free (or discounted) cell phones. This is a great perk because we abuse our phones a lot and do not care much for cell phone fashion. We recently both received free Sony Ericsson mobile phones that retail for $249.00 each. They are very nice phone that also can be used as cameras. By ordering online we received a discount to make the cost $50 for each. There was also a mail-in rebate and once the 30-day return period is over I will send in the paperwork to get our $100 in rebates. Best of all is that I order the cell phones on a Monday evening and they were on our doorstep on Wednesday afternoon, and we paid nothing for the shipping.

If you do not mind the 2-year contract it is great to shop around for free cell phones that go along with these plans.

Keri and I have a shared plan. I got her a free phone when we changed plans. Also I will say check your work to see if they offer employee discounts for certain providers. I know mine does and it makes a huge difference.
